A Findhorn Foundation Special Event
From 19–25 March 2016 Corrina will be leading vocal workshops as part of EarthSings 2016 in the incredible location of the Findhorn Foundation.
From the Findhorn Foundation website:
“Our enduring commitment to singing as a path of healing, celebration and union through spirit, coupled with the phenomenal success of our recent EarthSings conferences is the inspiration behind the Findhorn Foundation once again creating a conference where transformation through song becomes possible.
This year we are delighted to welcome as our principal guests the 16-strong American choir Northern Harmony led by Larry Gordon, Patty Cuyler and special guest Ketevan Mindorashvili from Sighnaghi Georgia. Transcending the traditional definition of choral music, the group is particularly renowned for its command of varied world ethnic singing styles. Their appearance here will be part of their 17th European tour. Northern Harmony’s brilliant young singers will be on hand to help support each vocal part, making their teaching particularly efficient and rewarding.
Also with us for the week is Corrina Hewat, teaching Scots and harmony songs and performing with Shine, a group featuring Gaelic singer Alyth MacCormack and harpist Mary Macmaster.”
The following artists have been provisionally booked for evening concerts and one-off workshops:
- Zulu Tradition rekindles the spark of Zulu culture and heritage through traditional drama, song and dance
- James Grant is a singer/songwriter, formerly of Love and Money, known for the sweet sorrow of lost love and lasting hope echoes in ‘lyrics good enough to be poetry’
The conference will feature daytime workshops, participatory events and evening concerts (see below for details) and is hosted by Peter Vallance with local song teachers Bill Henderson and Kate O’Connell.
